As an Account Executive, you will be charged with selling both print and online advertising solutions by leveraging your consultative sales skills and solutions-based approach. The Requirements

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior sales experience in and knowledge of the advertising industry, and a passion for digital advertising 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of needs-based selling
  • Proven success increasing sales in a competitive marketplace
  • CRM sales management software experience with a leading platform; salesforce.com is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • An assertive, goal-oriented and self-motivated mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to multi-task, handle pressure and work under deadlines
  • The ability to work effectively as a member of a team and individually
This is an outside role and you will need a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. You may travel overnight, but it will be rare.

The Role

As an Account Executive you will be responsible for growing new and existing business by representing the Northeast Ohio Media Group's total audience solutions product suite, and by ensuring that advertising campaigns are properly implemented, monitored and optimized. Quick question for you - click here  Because of the in-depth nature of the product suite and the fact that prospects have individual needs and goals, you won’t pursue quick transactional business. Rather, you'll take a needs-based, consultative approach to building relationships, earning credibility, and closing business resulting in a partnership that will last beyond the first campaign. The robust product suite which you’ll leverage for your clients includes: 
  • cleveland.com
  • Ad networks
  • Print ad solutions in The Plain Dealer and Sun News
  • Mobile, video, text and/or apps
  • Digital directories
  • Search engine marketing
  • Search engine optimization
  • Social media optimization
You will be responsible for managing a territory with existing business and growing your book of business through aggressive prospecting and networking. When first meeting with prospects, you’ll do a thorough needs analysis taking into account the target audience, the company's goals, and the project budget, and then develop solutions and draft proposals that will meet those needs and exceed their goals. Once you close the deal, you’ll ensure that the campaign is being implemented and optimized as planned and that the client’s expectations are being met. 

Specifically, you will be accountable for:
  • Proactively identifying new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, marketing, referrals, and lead databases
  • Exceeding established revenue goals
  • Maintaining and optimizing campaigns 
  • Renewing or up-selling current campaigns
  • Serving as a marketing consultant and building partnerships 
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends in order to present the latest information to your clients
